Q) Do participating adults need to register or only participating youth?
A) All adults and youth will need to register separately to participate. The registration also fills out the required health form, so these won't need to be collected independently.
Q) What if I want to fill out a printed health form with pen and paper instead of online?
A) No problem. Please fill one out and give it to your bishop or one of the stake young men or young women leaders and we'll register you manually. However, everyone will still be required to fill one out before participating.
Q) Where are we going?
A) We have been in contact with and are still finalizing permits with the BLM but we are currently planning on Skyline Drive. There is an alternate site planned in Spanish Fork Canyon if for some reason the BLM does not grant permits. It is planned that the BLM will officially grant us permits in March.
Q) What ages of youth are invited to participate?
A) Any youth turning 14 or older in the 2026 calendar year are invited to attend.
Q) If my youth has special needs, can they participate?
A) Yes! We hope to be as accommodating as possible. Please reach out to someone in the committee or at canyonridgestaketrek@gmail.com as soon as possible so we can help make arrangements as necessary.
Q) Are Young Women and Young Men leaders expected to attend trek?
A) No. Unless you have a specific assignment, you are not expected to be at trek. However, please plan to attend and support the 3rd Wednesday monthly activities.
Q) How will the stake be split up during trek?
A) Each Bishop (and spouse if available) will serve as a Wagon Master and will include four Ma & Pa couples. There will be five wagon trains per company with two companies. A member of the stake presidency will lead each company. There are many other support individuals along the trek route.
Q) I'd like to help! Who can I contact to offer my skills and services?
A) That's great! Please email canyonridgestaketrek@gmail.com and let them know how you would like to help, any specific skills, which ward you're from, etc. Please understand we need a number of volunteers but many of those are also being contacted by the stake and individual wards.
Q) Are we wearing traditional pioneer clothing on trek?
A) Yes! From the handbook "Doing so helps participants immerse themselves in the trek experience. It can also foster a sense of unity among the youth and help re-move social barriers that may exist." Clothing patterns and more information can be found at the end of the trek handbook found here.
